East Acton Primary School "Growing Together"

School Counselling Service

My name is Elita Bartholomew, I am the Counselling Services Manager from The Ealing Schools Counselling Partnership. My role is to provide emotional support to parents/carers and children within East Acton primary School.

The Space – A Place to Talk

We have a lunchtime drop-in every Thursday called The Space for children who may be struggling with their feelings, feel vulnerable in the playground or who have something that is concerning them. This is a place where they can come and talk to me, either alone or with a friend, about their worries. If you do not want your child to use this service, please let us know.

Parents' Drop-In

As part of the service we offer a regular Parents' Drop-in zoom between 9:30-10:30am every Thursday, where you can meet with me online.   This is a confidential space in which you may discuss any concerns you have about your child(ren) and/or receive emotional support due to difficulties that maybe going on in your life i.e. bereavement, separation, stress, anxiety, etc. If you would like to attend or would like more information contact me on; Tel: 07469701260, E-mail: barte151.307@lgflmail.net or leave a message with the school office and I will get back to you.

I also work alongside Ann Forshaw who is a Trainee Therapist. Ann works with children 1:1 in therapy, using play and the arts to process and manage difficult feelings and work through past and present challenging life events.

The Invisible String

Please find below the link to this week's video message, including the story of ‘The Invisible String’ by Patrice Karst, This story helps us to recognise that we are always connected to those that we love and care about even if we cannot be with them.
