Today Cherry class will be bringing home a letter to give more information about Google classroom. Each week, children in Cherry class will receive Maths, English and Spelling homework in their homework books. They will also have one piece of homework to complete on Google classroom. Please help your child to log in to Google classroom and complete the homework task. If you have any problems with this, or need help please send an email to the year three email and we will help you
The children have all done an excellent job of settling back into school! This week for homework the children have been set three tasks. Children have spelling words to learn, a Maths task and an English task. I have attached each piece of homework as a document if needed. In addition to this, children at school on Friday 18th September will be bringing home a reading book to read at home. Please read this with your child, and ask them questions about the book. Sign the record book, when you have read with your child. Reading books need to be bought back to school on Tuesday. New reading books will be sent home on Friday.
Children at school on Friday 18th September were given their log in for Google classroom and shown how to use this at home. This week for homework, I would like children to log in to Google classroom, to practise using this at home. There is a small task for the children to complete online. The log in information for Google classroom is stuck inside the homework book. I will attach instructions for how to use Google classroom as a document as well. If your child does not have a log in for Google classroom, please email me using the class email address and I will send it to you. If you have problems accessing Google classroom at home, please tell us so we can try to help you fix the problem.
In English, we are reading the book called The Julien Stories, written by Ann Cameron.
Julian just can't resist a taste of the wonderful lemon pudding his father has made. But as he and his little brother, Huey, taste just a little bit more, the pudding is suddenly all gone! And Julian is in trouble. Six funny and lively tales in which Julian gets into mischief--and out again--and finally makes a special new friend.
Based on the book, we will be learning how to write instructions. We will be focussing on using time conjunctions, imperative verbs and adverbs in our writing.
In Maths, for the first 4 weeks, we will be focussing on the place value of 3 digit numbers.
Click on the link, click on HTO and practise representing three digit numbers.
In History this half term, we are learning about the Romans. Our focus question is
How have the Romans influenced our lives today?
Watch the video above to learn some facts about the Romans
