"Tell me and I will listen.
Show me and I will see.
Let me do it and I will learn!"
It has been wonderful seeing the children back in school and already working hard. We are impressed with a positive attitude that everyone is displaying in class. May we wish all the children to have an enjoyable and exciting academic year ahead!

Coming to school
The children should arrive in school between 8.40 and 8.50 in the morning. Following hand washing, there will be valuable morning activities for them to complete in order to prepare them for the learning they will access that day. Because of that, please ensure that they are in school on time.
The children should wear the correct school uniform and comfortable black shoes. Their coats and jumpers should be labeled to avoid misplacing or losing them.
All pupils should bring their flasks or bottles with clean water from home to school. They will have an opportunity to refill these during the day in their classrooms. All the bottles should be marked with your child's name. Each classroom has a tap with drinking water.
As the children are entering the Upper Key Stage 2 phase, the expectation is for them to develop their stamina and fluency by reading different types of texts. Please ensure that your child reads at home every day and that you can hear them read. Please sigh their diary every day. The books will be exchanged weekly.
Homework will be set every Friday. Children must bring their completed homework on the following Wednesday. It is important that children are given space and time to complete them at home.
All the homework should be completed in pencil. If you have any questions regarding the homework sent home, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. The children should expect to receive their homework in English grammar, spelling and in maths every week.
In addition, in Year 5, they will be asked to research and complete work in other subjects from time to time. For each of these, some additional time will be given for children to complete them and will be indicated on the instruction that will come with it.
PE lessons are on Fridays. The children will be taught by Mr Mark. On Fridays, your child should come to school wearing their PE kit. Please ensure that PE clothing is comfortable and suitable for the weather which might change soon due to the colder months approaching. Trainers should be worn on PE days too!
