Please make sure children are wearing school jumpers with PE kits, not jumpers and hoodies. Please don't dress your children in full tracksuits - correct PE uniform is still required even on PE days.
Welcome back and welcome to Year 6 Oak Class!
It's been wonderful seeing children back in the school and learning in the classroom. Same as in Year 5, I will post details of the work children will be covering in class, with some advice about how you can advance their learning at home. I will also post details about any upcoming events in school or with secondary school intake. If you have any questions about anything on this page or your children's learning, please call the office, leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible, or even better, email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ms Harvey, Miss Gobin and Ms Vinas
The children will have PE with our wonderful PE teacher Mr Mark on Thursdays. On PE days, your child will be asked to come to school in their PE kit to avoid having to change for PE and store PE kits in school. Please ensure PE kits are warm enough for children to wear throughout the day as the colder months approach. Trainers may be worn on PE days. Please try to stick to the school dress code and colours as best possible.
The children were given a leaflet regarding starting high school in 2021. To apply for places you will need to visit www.eadmissions.org.uk. See the image below. Open days are starting at early as next week (week beginning 14th September 2020) so make sure you see the schools that you are interested in. Please give us a ring if you have any questions about this.
In History this term, the children will be learning about the Ancient Maya Civilisation. Please visit BBC Bitesize: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zq6svcw to start learning about this fascinating period in history.
