East Acton Primary School "Growing Together"

Year 6 Residential 2025

Monday 30th June

The day has finally come! Here we are, at Paccar.

We arrived safely in the morning and settled into our building. It has been a very hot day but that did not stop us keeping active and engaged in many risk taking and team building activities.

here, you find some photos we will share during our stay at Paccar.

Tuesday 1st July

We began the day early, met by even higher temperatures and a blazing sun. As if the heat wasn’t enough of a challenge, we took on the task of learning how to build a real fire - from scratch. It took teamwork, patience, and a bit of determination, but we succeeded. And what better way to celebrate than with warm, gooey marshmallows roasted over the flames we created ourselves? Sticky, sweet, and absolutely worth it!

One of Paccar's more unusual challenges involved navigating an obstacle course in the woods - completely blindfolded! In and out, over and under, through and around... it was a real test of balance, focus, and coordination. Despite a few wobbly moments (and the occasional wrong turn), the pupils showed impressive resilience, determination, and a great sense of humour throughout. A brilliant effort from everyone - and plenty of laughter along the way!

This afternoon was all about pushing limits, conquering fear and embracing the thrill of adventure. The children soared down a 150-meter long zip line and high above the ground with screams of excitement clear with every glide. But the thrills didn’t stop there: next came the high 3G swing, rushing them down towards the earth and back up again. With a few stomach-turning moments along the way, it was an unforgettable adventure that left everyone buzzing with exhilaration and pride.

This evening’s activity involved small water balloons. What more can be said?

To round off another wonderful day, nothing beats the reward of a chocolate muffin paired with a warm cup of hot chocolate. Well - except maybe another game of football late into the night. It seems this day is far from over!
