East Acton Primary School "Growing Together"

School History

Here are a selection of photographs from the school's past...

Our School originally opened as the Acton National (i.e. Church of England) School in 1862, for 39 infants in a converted cottage.  One hundred children were on the roll in 1883. The school moved to the present site in 1870 where it remained until condemned in 1923.  Rebuilt in 1926, it closed again in 1931 on the opening of John Perryn School.  It was reopened for infants in 1950.  Please click the file below for some more information about the school's history.

East Acton Primary first opened in 1862!
